Meditation Quote 24: “Quiet the mind, and the soul will speak.” – Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati

Much mystery surrounds what happens in meditation after we are able to quiet the mind, and delve deeper into it. Every meditation tradition has their own view, theory and guidelines on this, and ultimately we can only know for sure by trying for ourselves. Let’s have a look at one persons view…

“Quiet the mind, and the soul will speak.”
– Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati

Quieting the mind can be both a fun and challenging experience, but luckily it gets easier with practice.

Once the mind is quiet, according to Ma Jaya Sati Bhagavati, the soul will speak.

Now, this can be taken to mean a number if things:

  • With a still mind, we can more easily notice and listen to our intuition
  • Our soul literally speaks to us when our mind is quite
  • Some divine power, which our soul is connected to, speaks to us via our soul when we are of a silent mind

No matter the interpretation, I think this quote brings some truth to all of us. Beyond the mind lies something of great importance, and we would be wise to listen to it when the moment permits.
