Meditation Quote 84: “Only this actual moment is life.” – Thich Nhat Hanh

If life is a series of moments, how come so many of them pass by without us noticing?

The sad truth is that many of us get trapped in the past or the future, and in the process missing out on the the present moment.

Missing out on life!

If you’re one of our avid readers, you might have noticed that I shared a very similar quote by Thich Nhat Hanh about 6 months ago.

Back then I wrote:

It is easy to get trapped in the past, of lost worrying about the future. It is only by being present in the moment that we can truly live. Choose life and growth by allowing yourself to focus on the present – not the past of the future.

And there you have it!

Only by freeing ourselves from the shackles of the past, and the limiting fear of the future, can we live fully in the moment.

Devote today’s meditation to simply noticing your thoughts, body, surroundings, and whatever may arise.

Observe non-judgmentally, and return to focus on your breath when you have acknowledged it.

Enjoy the moment!
