Shinzen Young Silent Meditations

Ever wish you could listen to some recorded silence?

Here you go! Fantastic, right?

33 minutes of total silence, in the form of a YouTube video, for you to sit down and watch.

While it might sound silly to listen to a recording of a silent meditation, I find it helpful for 2 simple reasons:

  1. In a small way it feels like you’re meditating in the same room as Shinzen and his students, and gives an added motivation to complete the full 33 minutes of meditation – “If him and his students can do it, I should be able to do it too.”
  2. The video starts and ends with the sound from a tibetan singing bowl, so that you don’t have to keep track of the time for yourself.
