How To Take Action While Doing Nothing

How To Take Action While Doing Nothing

You’ve heard me say it before, but it’s always a good time to be said again: With Awareness we can take Action!

Did you know that just 5 minutes of mindful breathing can calm the mind, relax the body, and leave you feeling refreshed?

Maybe this is a reminder for you. Maybe I’m preaching to the choir. Whichever is the case, I invite you to take some time for yourself today to be be still.

Set your work aside, bring some alignment to your posture, some awareness to your breath, and then just let go. Tune in to the feeling of being in your body.

What does it feel like? Can you feel tension? Tightness? Can you feel the density of your arms or legs?

On the next out-breath, just relax and let go. Feel your body dissolve, your tension melt. Continue like this for 5 minutes. Noticing, releasing. Breathing, letting go.

You can even do this as you read these words. Feel your feet on the ground? Your clothes on your body? The air on your skin?

When you experience the body outside of your thoughts about it, the mind goes silent.

Meditation is about relaxing. Relaxing into you. Take some time today to drop into the stillness within. The relaxation is waiting.

Stress Release Tip

The easiest way I know of to decrease your stress levels is to take a break. To do less so that you can do more. When we push and struggle and strive to get that last little bit of work in, it usually isn’t quality anyway. Best to get up, take a stroll, then come back at it.

Mindful Moment

When you go a stroll, dare to leave your mobile device behind. Look up as you walk, notice something different about the scenery. Putting our attention “out there” for a bit, while consciously stepping one foot in front of the other (really feel yourself walking!) allows your body and mind to come together.

Quote From Dana

“All of man’s difficulties are caused by his inability to sit, quietly, in a room by himself.”
– Blaise Pascal
