There’s no room for your bold vision of the future when all you see are old reminders.
As the year draws to close and you look back, what do you see? Do you see the opportunities that you seized, the bold actions you took?
Or do you see how you’d rather have things be?
Either way, there is something powerful here. When we can honor our wins, along with seeing the areas for growth, there is balance.
But if, when you look around at the fruits of last year’s decisions, all you see is “coulda, shoulda, woulda,” well, what then?
Then it’s time to do some sweeping! As we sweep away the old, we can more easily the new shining through.
Here’s a few easy exercises that you can do to find the gems buried under your old experiences:
1. Clean up that area of clutter that haunts you.
You know, that one spot in your home or office that scares you just thinking about it. Dive into it this week, and feel the power of accomplishment!
2. Release the old with this powerful exercise:
Reflect on any challenges or “setbacks” you encountered this past year. On a single sheet of paper, make a list of these things. Now take out another sheet of paper. On this sheet, make a list of all of the positives that came out of the challenges.
Really feel into the power that came from the challenging experiences you encountered. Now burn, rip up or otherwise destroy the list of “setbacks.” You have taken everything good out of these experiences and learned well from them. No need to wallow any further.
3. What project are you most excited about going into 2015?
Where would you like this project to be in 6 months? Get clear on this vision. How would it make you feel? Where will it take you? Why do it in the first place? Write down this vision in as much detail as possible. Feel its truth and clarity. Now, what’s something you can do today to move you closer to this reality?
By aligning yourself with the energy of positivity, and allowing it to guide you, you can quickly see what about your life brings you excitement. Excitement and joy are our beacons on the path.
Let these beacons shine brightly in your life, and then follow your course. That blazing boldness is your true path.
Stress Release Tip
Play with your children today! Lose yourself in it. If you don’t have kids, play with your pet! No kids or pets? Just play! Do something simple, away from your computer, without the smartphone, just you and funtime. Have some fun without worrying about a thing.
Are your thoughts in the past or the future? If so, notice when your mind tricks you into thinking you’re really there.
Quote From Adam
“Be bold and mighty forces will come to your aid. In the past, whenever I had fallen short in almost any undertaking, it was seldom because I had tried and failed. It was because I had let fear of failure stop me from trying at all.”
– Arthur Gordon
