Have you ever caught yourself “demonizing” something on your “to do list”? You know… had something that you needed to get done, but put it off for a few days, weeks, or even months… And for some reason you avoided it because it seemed like such a big, difficult or painful task?
I sure have, several times!
And always (with very few exceptions) the task turned out to be not only much (much much much) simpler than I thought, but also more quicker done than I could ever imagine.
For a lot of our problems, it is the same way. If we give something too much thought instead of just dealing with it straight away, we give it power and control over us.
And similarly, by meditating we can (with practice and willingness) gain the power to objectively observe our thoughts, acknowledge them for what they are, and “let go”.
Try it today (if you haven’t already)!
Sit down, close your eyes, focus on your breath… Whenever a thought comes up, don’t suppress it.. just observe and acknowledge it.
Good luck!
“All your problems are just thoughts. And thoughts are not a problem.”
– Jeff Foster
What do you think.. Are your problems real ..or are you inflating them with your thoughts? Comment!
