Meditation Quote 77: “The mind is restless and difficult to restrain, but it is subdued by practice.” – From the Bhagavad Gita

Ever been in a wrestling match with your mind? Did you win?

We’ve previously both mentioned how your mind has on average 50,000 thoughts per day, and we’ve explored how people prefer electro shock to being alone with their thoughts.

With this in mind, coupled with your own experience, I am sure you agree that the mind can be both overpowering and difficult focus.

And in this picture, the quote below puts it in elegant words.

“Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.”
– Confucius

Which leaves me with not much more to say than that I fully agree and that the practice, which has the power to subdue the mind, comes in the form of consistent meditation.

I want you to make today the day you (if you haven’t already) sit down and make a commitment to better your life, and do yourself a favor. How?

Simply start meditating daily, for as little as 10 minutes.

This guided breath meditation is a good place to start!

Is the mind your friend or enemy? Comment below, if only to say “friend” or “enemy”, and let’s see what you all think.

"The mind is restless and difficult to restrain, but it is subdued by practice." - From the Bhagavad Gita
