Today’s quote might be a bit of a cliché, but does it mean it’s not true?
Clichés are often clichés because they are based on a truth, or at the very least a stereotypical representation of one.
That’s why I often choose to embrace clichés rather than discount them, and interpret them in my own way.
Take this quote for example…
“If at first you don’t succeed, try, try, try again.”
– William Edward Hickson
That’s the recipe for how you learnt to ride a bike and swim, and how Sylvester Stallone landed his first lead role in a movie (after having received over a 1,000 rejections).
Which leads me to one of the most common myths about meditation: “I tried it once, and it’s not for me.”
Nope! All you have to do is try, try, try again – and it will become easier the more you try.
So do yourself the favor (if you haven’t already), and give meditation a try – and then try, try, try, try, try again.
Are you ready to give meditation a serious try (or perhaps you have already)? Comment below.
