The Art Of Travel And Stillness

By on November 26, 2014

A new Ted Talk about meditation and travel just came out. And it’s a great one!

It’s about how a man was driven to travel the world from a very early age, became a travel writer, and discovered meditation in the process.

Here is his own perspective on how travel and meditation can go hand in hand:

“One of the first things you learn when you travel is that nowhere is magical unless you can bring the right eyes to it. You take an angry man to the Himalayas, he just starts complaining about the food. And I found that the best way that I could develop more attentive and more appreciative eyes was, oddly, by going nowhere. Just by sitting still. And of course sitting still is how many of us get what we most crave and need in our accelerated lives; a break.”
– Pico Iyer

A truly wonderful 15 minute Ted Talk. Give it a watch, and see for yourself!
