The Stillness

The mind is a thought machine. Literally thousands of thoughts race through our heads on a daily basis. Plans, agendas, hopes, worries, judgments, “good” thoughts, “bad” thoughts, all come as a neverending stream, interrupted only by – you guessed it! – meditation.

Through the practice of meditation, we cultivate a stillness of the mind.

With each subsequent practice session, this stillness invades our lives ever further, creating space in between and around our thoughts.

Like Moses parting the Red Sea, thoughts may swirl on either side, but we simply abide in the stillness, allowing the present moment to offer up the next step.

Daily practice provides the passage to the present. POW!

Quick Meditation Tip

We don’t ALWAYS touch the stillness. This is ok. Even when we sit down and are bombarded by urgent thoughts that we simply can’t leave behind, we are creating space through the breath. Space for this madness. Space to be. And then we can just watch.

Quote From Adam

“Life is a series of moments. The quality of attention and action that we bring to each moment determines the quality of our lives.”
– Dan Millman
