Top 4 Best Meditation Timers
Meditation is timeless and can be done without any tools, fancy equipment or fashionable setting. One tool which can be very handy to always bring with you though, is a timer.
There are literally thousands of gadgets, devices and things you can use as a timer.
Everything from a kitchen timer and an underwater watch, to grandma’s big clock or an old fashioned wind-up alarm clock.
That being said, all you really need is something that alerts you when a certain time has passed.
To help you decide what’s best for you, here are our top 4 types of meditation timers.
Top 4 Best Meditation Timers
- Your cell phone. This one is our favorite, simple because most people either have a cell phone with them. Wrist watches, with alarm, go in the same category if you use one.
- Kitchen timer or alarm clock. If you don’t have a cell phone, or don’t like having it around you when meditating, a simple household timer like a kitchen timer or alarm clock is perfect. Set it to the desired time, and you’re set to go. Another benefit of this one is that it most times is quicker to use than a cell phone.
- Hourglass. This one is perfect if you want a minimum of distraction, and don’t mind checking if the sand has run out. Takes some practice and getting used to.
- Your inner clock. If you are flexible with your time, simply meditating without a timer might be best. We still recommend that you decide on a pre-determined time for your meditation. With time you can be able to become quite accurate with your inner clock, but for shorter durations like 10 or 20 minutes.
That’s our top 4 meditation timers, that we have with or around us every day.
